Ruth Neal

Funeral services for Ruth Medley Neal, 94 of Baxter will be Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 1 P.M. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with interment in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Neal died Monday morning, October 13, 2014 in Life Care Center of Sparta. She was born October 17, 1919 in Putnam County to the late Ernest and Martelia Anderson Medley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Neal on Jan. 2, 1985, four brothers: Lamar, Roy, Morris and Arnold Medley. She attended Baxter Seminary and was a member of Baxter First United Methodist Church. She was an accomplished seamstress, loved to garden and was a great cook. Survivors include sister Louise Medley of Cookeville, nieces and their husbands: Pat and Carl Prentice of Madison, Deane and Sutton Kay of Clinton, nephews and their wives: Donald M. and Shirley Medley of Harrisburg, Ill., James Ernest and Sarah Medley, Mark Lamar and Donna Medley all of Clinton, host of great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Rev. T.J. Bennett will officiate. Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
