Funeral services for Ruth Huddleston Pirtle, 81, of Silver Point will be held Thursday, August 4 at 2 p.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow in Carr Cemetery. Bro. Tony Crow and Bro. Herb Leftwich will officiate. Mrs. Pirtle died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at her home. She was born January 22, 1930 in Portland, TN to the late William Atlas and Myrtle Elizabeth Johns Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, T.C. Huddleston. Mrs. Pirtle was a member of Silver Point Baptist Church. She was a LPN at Cookeville Regional Medical Center where she retired in 1989 with 15 years of service. Mrs. Pirtle is survived by her husband, Jerry Pirtle of Silver Point (whom she married September 3, 1989), son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Rhonda "Sudie"� Huddleston, two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy and Robert Little and Glenna Vincent all of Silver Point; stepson and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Phylis Pirtle of Portland; stepdaughter, Caroline Pirtle of Fredericksburg, VA; two sisters, Gaynell Freedle of Portland and Katherine Dorris of Franklin, IN; eight grandchildren, Justin (Allison) Little of Dyer, TN; Lisa (Jason) Stanton, Travis Little, Chad (Alana) Huddleston, Kael (Justin) Hyde, Teri (Ward) Smith all of Silver Point; Nicole Brown of Cookeville and Jacquline Rhinehart of Silver Point; five step-grandchildren, Cayce (Jonathan) Davis of NC; Molly (Frank) Omiyale of Chicago; Sally Pirtle of Cookeville; Allyson Frauenfelder of Boston Mass. and Charlie Frauenfelder of Mass; 16 great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday 12 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 10 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Pirtle"�s grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
