Ruby Nunn

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Nunn, age 80, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 21st at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Nolan Cantrell will officiate. Entombment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Nunn's family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Nunn died Sunday morning, October 18, 2015 at Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Cookeville, TN. She was born June 13, 1935, in Green County, Kentucky to the late Omer and Carrie Beauchamp Warren. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Larry Nunn; and by brothers, Duel Warren, Lee Warren, Harvey Warren and Clell Warren. She and her late husband Larry moved to Cookeville from Morganfield, KY in 1961 when he began his career at WPTN radio station. She was an elegant lady, who put her family first as a loving and faithful homemaker, wife and mother. She was a great cook, who had her own cookbook and a loyal following at her ‘Ruby Thursdays' lunches at Sunny 95 Radio Station. She was a longtime member of Baxter United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Monty and Cindy Nunn of Hixson, TN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Chuck Schmid of Milford, OH and Lana and Bub Stockton of Livingston, TN; three grandchildren, Jeremy and wife Aleris of Chattanooga, TN; Jonathan Nunn and Jessica Nunn, both of Hixson TN; and great grandchildren, Naomi Joy Nunn and Cyrus Timothy Nunn; sister-in-law and family, Lois Daffron of Campbellsville, KY; and by special friends, Niobe Walker and Elise Jenkins. Chuck Schmid, David Brown, Don Canaster, Terry Daffron, David Davis, and James "Pug" Lee will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Drue Huffines and Joel Upton.
