Born on January 2, 1943, in Silver Point, Tennessee, she was the cherished daughter of Arvil Vance and Gennie Frances Oaks Burgess, both of whom have predeceased her.
Ruby was a loving mother to her daughters, Linda Haugk, Brenda Burgess, and Tammy Maynard, all residing in Baxter. She derived immense joy from her role as a grandmother, proudly celebrating her four grandchildren: Matt (Julie) Haugk, Spencer (Leah) Johnson, Brittney (Corey) Mills, and Chelsey (Dustin) Stanton. Ruby was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren who brought her boundless happiness and laughter: Audrey Smith, Abigail Haugk, Ayla Haugk, Cameron Bujan, Blakelee Bujan, Ryker Johnson, Anna Mills, Ally Mills, Evie Stanton, and Sawyer Stanton.
Ruby's life was enriched by her siblings, who include her brothers, Donnie (Paula) Burgess and Tony Burgess of Baxter, as well as her sisters, Eulah (John) Gentry of Cookeville and Eris Bryant of Baxter. She is also reunited in spirit with her late husband, Thomas "Bud" Maynard, who departed this world on October 25, 2018, her daughter Phyllis (Diller) Brewington, and her brothers Roger, Richard, Jimmy, and Doug Burgess.
A woman of many talents and interests, Ruby had a profound love for cooking, gardening, and tending to her flowers, which attracted a delightful array of hummingbirds and a flock of turkeys that graced her yard. Her nurturing spirit and warm hospitality will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Ruby Jo Maynard leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will resonate with those fortunate enough to know her. Her presence will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
