Ruby Jewell Smith

Funeral Services for Ruby Jewell Smith age 92 of Cookeville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011 from the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the West Cemetery of the Fairview Community. The family will receive friends on Thursday February 24, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Ms. Smith died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born April 24, 1918 in Putnam County TN to the late Townie Q. Smith and Etta Mae Gentry. She was a member of the West View Baptist Church and was a Volunteer at Cookeville Regional Medical Center for over thirty years. Ms. Smith is survived by one sister-in-law Louise Smith, two nieces Pauline (James) McReynolds of Cookeville and Patricia “Pat” (Phil) Hayden of Nashville, four nephews Charles (Donna) Smith of Cookeville, Harding (Barbara) Smith of Cookeville, Doyle (Kathy) Smith of Cookeville and Powell (Helen) Phy of Elizabethtown KY. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Lonnie, Howard and Herman Smith, one sister Lura Phy and two nephews Paul Phy and Douglas Smith. Bro. Chuck Branch will officiate the services.
