Funeral services for Ruby Estelle Lambert, age 89, of Dandridge TN will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010 from the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 16 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Lambert passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the St Mary’s Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City TN. She was born April 8, 1921 in the Putnam-White County area to the late Charlie Mack Weaver and Katherine Welch Weaver. Ruby will be greatly missed. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She retired from Dunedin High School after working many years in the school cafeteria as an amazing cook. She was a member of the French Broad Church of the Brethren, White Pine TN. Ms. Lambert is survived by One daughter, Judie Fitch and husband Gene Fitch of White Pine TN; three step-daughters, Ruth Kovach and husband Ben Kovach of Richmond IN, Leota Moss of Cookeville, and Joyce Reels of Mt. Juliet TN. She is also survived by a sister, Jane Smith of Dundee MI, and a brother, Thurman Weaver of Murfreesboro TN. As a loving grandmother, Ruby leaves eight grandchildren: Edward Lee Fitch and spouse Dawn Chewning, Dennis Fitch, Timothy Fitch and Tony Fitch, Stacey Mastridge and husband Ben Mastridge, Scott Lambert and wife Tammy Lambert, Steven Lambert, and Spencer Lambert and wife Lauren Lambert. She is also survived by seven step-grandchildren: Barbara Holmes and husband Mike Holmes, Carol Ann Mayberry and husband Roger Mayberry, Janie Moss, Melissa Moss, Tommy Moss, Linda Butler and husband John Butler, and Joey Reels and his wife. She was also blessed to be great grandmother to fifteen children and a great-great grandmother to several more. In addition to her husband, Beecher Andy Lambert, Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ernie Lambert; a granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Fitch: four brothers, Jesse, Herman, Clayton and Clennie Weaver: two step-grandsons, Larry Kovach and Michael Moss: and two step sons-in-law, James Moss and Oscar Reels. Pallbearers for the service will be her grandsons, family and friends. Pastor Ron Wine of the French Broad Church of the Brethren in White Pine TN will conduct the services.
