Funeral services for Mr. Roy Elmer Graybeal, Sr., 88 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday September 20th at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Graybeal Family Cemetery. Rev. H. Roan Crain will officiate. Mr. Graybeal's family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8p.m.and again Saturday from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Graybeal died Monday morning September 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born July 24, 1926 in Keith, West Virginia to the late Earl Luther and Mary Barker Graybeal. Roy served his country in the United States Army and was a WWII Veteran. He attended Morris Harvey College in West Virginia and then worked as a machine operator and was a foreman with Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills, Ohio. He and his late wife moved to Cookeville in 1986. He enjoyed bird watching and working crossword puzzles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary Lucille Richard Graybeal; son, Roy Graybeal Jr.; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; 1 great great grandchild; brothers, Ronnie, Jack and Donald Graybeal; sister, Dorothy Wiley; and by a son-in-law, David Mathis. Survivors include four daughters, Pat Mathis, Jean Brown both of Cookeville, Sher Williams (Darrin Spivey) of Gainesboro, and Mary Estep of Florida; four sons, Earl (Debbie) Graybeal of Rickman, Bobby (Luann) Graybeal, Timmy Barefield and Donnie (Sue) Graybeal all of Cleveland, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; one brother, Joe Graybeal of West Virginia; and by his beloved dog Ebony. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Graybeal's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Autism Tennessee, 955 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN 37206. http://autismtn.org/
