Funeral Services for Mrs. Rosemary Winn-Grinder, age 87 of Monterey will be Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Horner Funeral Home in Monterey. Interment will follow at Welch Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Winn-Grinder passed away October 11, 2015, at Standing Stone Care & Rehabilitation Center in Monterey. She was born February 27, 1928, in Fentress County to the late Van Buren Sr. and Martha Jane Winningham Nickens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Grinder; her son, Royal Bruce Winn Sr.; grandson, Kenneth (Kip) Edward Winn, Jr.; two sisters, Nancy Bowman and Barbara Biggers; two brothers, Van Buren Nickens, Jr. and Robert Nickens. Mrs. Winn-Grinder was a retired nurse. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, James and Vickie Winn of Summerville, SC, Kenneth and Patricia Ann Winn of Monterey, Gary Winn of Crossville, Robert (Bob) and Leta Lynn Winn of Crossville; 14 grandchildren, Missy (Winn) Gilmer, Jennifer (Winn) Liscio, Christina (Winn) Fewell, Terry Keith Winn, Tod Maxwell Winn, Kenneth Michael Winn, Vanessa Winn-Sherrer, James David Winn, Steve Winn, Marnie (Winn) Krisp, James Michael Winn, Morgan (Winn) Strickland, Royal Bruce (Tres) Winn, Jr. and Matthew Thomas Winn; 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Alicia Nickens of Danville, KY, Jack and Karen Nickens of Roanoke, VA, and sister, Peggy Walker of Monterey. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931) 839-2266.
