Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Evelyn Stockton, 82 of Cookeville will be held Sunday February 17 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Don Padgett officiating and Rev. Larry Wilmoth officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Stockton died Thursday morning February 14, 2013 in Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born October 29, 1930 in Fentress County, Tennessee to the late William Herbert and Lina Rhoda Stephens Blair. Mrs. Stockton was a homemaker who enjoyed providing wonderful meals and canning vegetables from her garden. She has been a member of Post Oak Presbyterian Church for over 50 years were she was active in the Women"�s Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her sister, Opal Johnson and two brothers, Rupert Blair and Steve Blair. Survivors include her husband of over 59 years, George Stockton (whom she married June 3, 1954 in Alpine, TN); daughter Sue Longcore of Sevierville; daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Mike Howard of Nashville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Kelly Stockton of Terre Haute, IN; six grandchildren, Pat Longcore, Amy Nipper, Josh (Kelly) Howard, Katie (Chris) Stockdale, David Stockton, and Olivia Stockton; five great grandchildren, Aaron and, Abby Nipper, Lily Stockdale, Emma and Carmody Howard; and a sister, Thelma Erps of Phoenix, AZ. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Stockton"�s family will receive friends Saturday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Stockton"�s family would like t express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Jane Gotcher and the staff at Bethesda Health Care Center. Memorial contributions may be made to Post Oak Presbyterian Church Women"�s Society 1174 Post Oak Drive Cookeville, TN 38501.
