Roscoe Mayberry

Funeral Services for Mr. Roscoe B. “Coe B” Mayberry will be Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, March 11, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Roscoe was born December 4, 1929 in Jackson County TN the youngest of thirteen children, to the late Rosco B. Mayberry and Bessie Brown Mayberry. He was retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation where he worked as a mechanic. Mr. Mayberry was a member of the Rocky Point Missionary Baptist Church, he loved gospel music and loved people and was always willing to give of himself to help others. Mr. Mayberry is survived by his wife, Louise Mayberry and two daughters; Sherron (husband Jimmy) Haney of Cookeville and Angel (husband Bruce) Hilton of Baxter, as well as one daughter-in-law; Donna Mayberry. In addition, Roscoe is survived by seven grandchildren; Brent Lee Mayberry, Suzanne Phillips (husband Donnie), Shelia McKee (husband Andrew), Liberty and Phoenix Hilton, Paul Mayberry and Sherry (husband James) Wilkerson as well as three step grandchildren and one great granddaughter; Ashlyn McKee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Roscoe was preceded in death by his first wife, Ava Avannah Ballard Mayberry two sons; Donnie B. Mayberry and Ronnie Lee Mayberry, three sisters, Pearlie Smith, Sara Wylie and Estelene Roberts, two brothers, Raymond and Robert Mayberry and one grandson Curtis Mayberry. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Highland Rim Home Health for their excellent care of Roscoe. Pallbearers will be Earl Harris, Eric Haney, Kenny Gentry, Jerry Gentry, Bruce Hilton and Jim Haney. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Allen and R. B. Wiley. Bro. Nolan Cantrell and Bro. Ken Haney will be conducting the services.
