Cookeville Chapel - Ronnie Flatt, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November , 2024 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. Born on March 3, 1956, in Jackson County, TN, Ronnie lived a life full of service and dedication. Ronnie proudly served in the United States Navy for 22 years, with tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, showcasing his commitment to his country. After his military service, he spent 16 years working at Fleetguard-Cummins, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to excellence.

A man of faith, Ronnie was a member of the House of Prayer Revival Center in Rickman, TN, finding strength and community in his spiritual family. He attended the Nameless School, where he laid the foundation for a life committed to learning and growth.

Outside of his professional and military achievements, Ronnie found joy in various hobbies. He loved playing golf, fishing, and was a keen fan of wrestling, particularly WWE. His passion for sci-fi also brought him immense joy, reflecting his imaginative spirit.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Rena Key Flatt of Livingston; his sons, Eric (Sierra) Flatt of Cookeville and Edward Randolph of Livingston; and his daughter, Bobbie Randolph. He is also survived by his brother, Bill (Mary) Flatt of Jackson County, and his cherished grandchildren, Zack, Donovan, Emerald, Joshua, Diamond, Ruby, and Addison. Additionally, he is survived by his great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Greyson Judah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sewell Isaac and Ruby Lee Roberts Flatt, along with his brothers, Kenneth Flatt, Wendell Flatt, and James Howard "Jim" Flatt, and his sister, Linda Wilmoth.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Homes. 

The funeral service will be held 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Owens and Zack Randolph officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at Curry's Chapel Cemetery in Jackson County, provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Eric Flatt, Edward Randolph, Glendon Coffee, Chris Flatt, Donovan Brittingham and Zack Randolph.

Ronnie Flatt will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
