Mr. David Ronald "Ronnie" Fitzpatrick, age 77, of Cookeville, passed away suddenly, Wednesday evening, May 11 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. In keeping with his wishes, his family will host an outdoor reception in his honor at their home at 1270 Flatt Circle, in Cookeville, Saturday, May 14 from 4 - 6 p.m. Ronnie was born October 27, 1938 in Cookeville, TN to the late Walter Fitzpatrick Sr. (former Cookeville Mayor) and Catherine Bernice Harley Fitzpatrick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Kole Brewer. Ronnie was a member of Collegeside Church of Christ. He graduated from Central High School in 1956 and Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (TTU) in 1960. After graduation, he spent the next 20 years with Associates Capital Finance Company. He later was involved with the founding of First American Bank in Cookeville serving as Vice President. He later retired and was office manager with Quality Medical Center. Ronnie was involved with various civic organizations, Cookeville Civitan Club, Cookeville Jaycees, Cookeville Kiwanas, and a volunteer with Cookeville City Fire Department. He served on the TTU School of Nursing Board. Ronnie was a member of the National Guard for over 12 years. An avid fisherman, he was a longtime member of the Cookeville Bass Club. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Black Fitzpatrick (whom he married May 31, 1963 at Collegeside Church of Christ); two daughters and a son-in-law, Kacie Fitzpatrick-Dunavan and her husband John of Franklin, Kelli Fitzpatrick of Goodlettsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter Jr, and Peggy Fitzpatrick of Cookeville and Sam Fitzpatrick of Kingsport, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Acie Mitchell of Gun Barrel City, TX; four grandchildren, Katie Wilmoth (husband, Cameron), Clay Brewer, Stokes Dunavan, and Nicholson Dunavan; five great-grandchildren, Mason, Ellie, Emma, Mia, and Lucas Wilmoth.
