Funeral services for Mr. Ronald Dean Taylor, age 58 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday September 3rd at 11 a.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Ted Kocher will officiate. Interment will follow in Aaron's Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Taylor's family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Taylor died Tuesday morning September 1, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born December 24, 1956 in Trenton, Michigan to Girdean Savage Taylor and the late Arthur Taylor. Ron's family moved to Tennessee in 1969 and he was a 1975 graduate of Rickman High School. Ron worked for the city of Cookeville as a mechanic in the Public Works Department for 20 years. He could fix and do anything and was always using that gift to help others. He was a car enthusiast with a talent for rebuilding and restoring trucks. Ron loved to talk, especially about his girls and anything automobile related. He was well loved and will be remembered for his kindness and his willingness to help others. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father in law, James Allison. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 38 years, Donna Allison Taylor; daughters, Allison Taylor (Tommy) Lee of Livingston and Jessica Marie (Sean) Jackson of Cookeville; granddaughters Taylor Grace Lee and Charley Beth Lee and granddaughter to be, Ivy Kate Jackson; brother, Keith (Terri) Taylor of Cookeville; sisters, Karen Taylor (Mitch Winton) of Livingston and Teresa (John) Young of Deland, FL; mother in law, Ruth Allison of Cookeville and brother in law, Stewart (Gemma) Allison of Mt Juliet. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Mended Little Hearts of the Upper Cumberland, c/o Corinn Hill, 1725 Parker Place, Cookeville, TN 38506 and/or Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, Vanderbilt Gift Processing Office PMB 407727, 2301 Vanderbilt Place, Nashville, TN 37240-7727.
