Romola Drost

Funeral services for Romola Ann Drost, 91 of Cookeville, will be conducted Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael"�s Episcopal Church with Rev. Joe Weatherly officiating. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Drost"�s family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 - 8pm at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner and again on Wednesday from 10am to service time at the church. A reception in Mrs. Drost"�s honor will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Cumberland Art Society immediately following the interment. Mrs. Drost died Sunday October, 14th at NHC of Cookeville. She was born June 12, 1921 in Greenville, SC to the late James Cline Henson and Lena Rivers Simmons Henson. Mrs. Drost was a member of St. Michael"�s Episcopal Church since 1958. She was a well known artist and was a very active member of the Cumberland Art Society. She served as President several times over the years and recently finished a term as board member. She also taught children"�s classes and water color classes at the society. In addition, she taught the Senior Art Class at the Cookeville Senior Citizens Center and organized in the Reba Bacon High School Art Competition. She also served as a volunteer for many years at the WCTE TV Great TV Auction. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Raymond Albert Drost (who died June 22, 1994); and two sisters, Violet Anderson and Mary Rotella. Mrs. Drost is survived by a son, Alan Drost; daughter, Sally Drost, both of Cookeville; brother, Jim Henson and wife Elise of Sarasota, FL; and sister, Betty Cauble of California. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
