Rodger Davis

Rodger H. Davis, 72, born on February 17, 1947 in Bloomington Springs, Tennessee. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in his home, on Thursday December 19, 2019. A loving husband, father and stepfather to his wife and children and an exceptionally caring man to those that called him “Grandad.” Rodger truly lived his life for the Lord. Pastoring all over Kentucky and Tennessee; Dione Baptist Church in Dione, KY; First Baptist Church in Morrison, TN; First Baptist Church in Jamestown, KY; Silver Creek Baptist Church in Berea, KY; as well as starting 2 churches during his life on earth, Trinity New Life Church in Murfreesboro, TN and New Heights Church in Berea, KY. He was the hands, the feet, the voice and the love of God expressed in many different ways. He chose to honor him as he served in his name. He cared for the flock that God had entrusted to him. He watched over willingly because he was eager to serve God, to lead them by his own good example. And when his time on Earth was done we know that he received a crown of never ending Glory & Honor! Rodger is preceded in death by his parents, Haskel Davis and Vera Lee Goolsby Davis. Two brothers; JT Davis and James Davis; Five sisters, Jean Davis Dildine; Louise Davis; Bea Davis Farris; Sue Davis Maxwell; and Ruby Davis Henry. One granddaughter, Danielle Faith Shearer. Roger is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Davis; three daughters, Karen Davis Rogers (Paul) of Gordonsville, TN; Sharon Davis of White House, TN; and Angel Davis Warden (Rob) of McMinnville, TN; two step-children, Aaron Hammonds of Bowling Green, KY; Alaina (Drew) Patterson of Bowling Green, KY; four grandsons, Corey (Kristen) Warden of McMinnville, TN; Cole (Larissa) Warden of McMinnville, TN; and Seth & Aaron Rogers of Gordonsville, TN; two granddaughters, Kimerbly (Jalen) Smith of McMinnville, TN; and Trinity Hammonds of Bowling Green, KY; three step-granddaughters; Hudson Hammonds, Emery Patterson, and Graci Patterson of Bowling Green, KY; two great-grandsons, Liam & Tru Warden of McMinnville, TN; one great-granddaughter, Elliette Kate Warden of McMinnville, TN; one brother, Jim (Sherry) Davis of Carthrage, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family, friends and others whose lives Rodger touched are invited to Dyer Funeral Home in Cookeville, TN. On Saturday December 21, 2019 for a Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm with service to follow at 5:00 pm. A man that touched so many lives during his time here on Earth.
