Robert Poteet

Funeral services for Robert Houston Poteet Jr., age 71 of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday October 15 at Cookeville First United Methodist Church. Dr. Kevin Conrad and Chancellor Ronald Thurman will officiate. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery.

His family will receive friends Saturday from 12 p.m. until service time at the church.

Robert passed away Tuesday October 11, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 29, 1951 in Cookeville to the late Robert Houston Poteet Sr. and Anne Gledhill Poteet.

Robert worked at Poteet Hardware until the passing of his father at which time the store was sold. He then worked for the Cookeville Electric Department for approximately 30 years until he retired.

Robert was a Christian. He was a life-long member of the Cookeville First United Methodist Church and served in several capacities including an usher for several years. He was a very kind and caring person who cherished his friendships.

He is survived by his sister, Sherri Poteet Murchison of Cookeville.
