Graveside service for Robert "Bob" Frank Nichols, 79 of Cookeville will be Thursday, October 28 at 11 AM at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Clayton Lee, Jr. will officiate. Military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard.The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery for the graveside service. Mr. Nichols died Sunday morning, October 24, 2021 at his home. He was born July 29, 1942 in Baxter to the late Jesse Donald and Pearlie Brown Nichols. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Reba Grider and a brother Jesse Clyde Nichols. He was Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. Bob was of the Baptist faith. Bob retired as a coordinator with Porelon of Cookeville and later was a UCARTS driver. Survivors include wife of 50 years (Married July 10, 1970) Sharon Herd Nichols of Cookeville, sons and daughters-in-law Brian and Wendy Nichols of Double Springs, Adam and Brenda Johnson of Cookeville, grandchildren: Ashley and Chris Holloway, Breanna, Austin and Jacob Nichols, Theresa and Kenny Geobel, Marilyn and Jason Ledbetter, Tisa and Johnny Russell, great-grandchildren: Lilly, Brayden and Kayden Jackson, Aubrey, Amara and Andrew Little, Hannah Cronin, Amber and Dakota Flatt, Cody and Emily Smith, Kaitlin and Faith Russell, and Ayden Bennett. Active Pallbearers will be Kevin, Carlen and Houston Loftis, Allen Christian, Billy Shanks and Joe Clark. Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931)526-6111.
