Robert Lynch

Robert Alan Lynch, a devoted family man and respected member of the law enforcement community, passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on August 16, 2023. Born on June 10, 1945, in Toledo, OH, Robert, lived a life of service, loyalty, and love.


Robert was the beloved son of the late Walter and Edith Bess Lynch and brother of the late John Lynch.


He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Diana Buckner Lynch, with whom he shared a life full of love and happiness. His legacy will continue to live on through his two sons, Bob Lynch and his wife Sherry, and Mike Lynch and his wife Misty. He was a cherished grandfather to Jessica Errickson and her husband Kyle, Brittany Proctor and her husband Joe, and Gracie Lynch, and great-grandfather to Fletcher Errickson.


Robert's career was marked by a deep commitment to public service. He served with the Detroit Police Department, Cookeville Police Department, and the Public Defender’s Office.


Robert Alan Lynch leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a loyal friend, and a dedicated public servant.


Although no services are planned, the family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.


In lieu of flowers, those wishing to may make a memorial contribution in memory of Robert may do so to a charity of your choosing.
