Robert Eugene Schaplowsky

Mr. Robert Eugene Schaplowsky, age 85, of Cookeville and formerly of Cocoa Beach, FL, passed away suddenly Monday, December 5, 2016 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mr. Schaplowsky was born May 25, 1931 in Andale, KS to the late August Alexander and Mary Armbruster Schaplowsky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Kent and Ray Schaplowsky. He was a retired engineer with Aerojet General Corp. with over 30 years of service. He also was a US Navy Reserve veteran. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor Haley Schaplowsky, whom he married September 16, 1950 in Wichita, KS; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Jan Schaplowsky of Cookeville; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Brian Schadel of Los Angeles, CA; daughter-in-law, Julie Schaplowsky of Northfield, MN; daughter-in-law, Denise Morris of Sacramento, CA; and seven grandchildren, Tim, Abbey, Christine, Kyle, Sean, Madison, and Cassidy Schaplowsky.
