BAXTER-Robert Carlon Watson, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 surrounded by his family at The Willows at Howell, in Howell, Michigan. Robert Carlon was born to the late Leslie Grady Watson and Mary Sallie Nixon Watson on September 7, 1932 in DeKalb County, TN. In 1951 Robert married the love of his life, Pamela Doris who preceded him in death. Shortly after uniting in marriage they moved to Detroit, Michigan pursuing work with the common goal to build a beautiful life together. Robert Carlon and Pamela Doris raised four wonderful children together during their time in Michigan. In 1997, after his retirement from Livonia Public Schools they decided to head back to their roots and established their farm in Baxter, Tennessee, where they spent the next 21 years together. During those wonderful years he enjoyed spending time with his beautiful wife working together on their farm, raising their goats, caring for their dogs and cats, and appreciating regular visits with family and friends. Together they found a relationship with the Lord and gained many new friendships at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where they became members shortly after returning to Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Pamela Doris Jernigan Watson on September 7, 2018, brother Jim Grady Watson, and sisters Jewel Price, Ruth Wilson, Carlene Helm and Lois Clemons. Survivors include four children: daughter Myra (Hank) DeHerder of Shelby Twp, Michigan, sons Roger (Laura Brown) Watson of Lacock, England, Tim (Kathy) Watson of Somers, Wisconsin, Tom (Jackie) Watson of Stockbridge, Michigan, brother Jim Watson of Baxter, six grandchildren: Hendrik DeHerder, Lindsay (Trevor) Kindlon, Ben Watson, Kathryn (Teo) Watson-Ahlbrandt, Jason (Amy) Watson and Crystal (Wesley) Monahan, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
