Memorial services for Mr. Robert Dorsey Barsumian, age 96 of Gulfport, MS, will be held Monday January 12 at 1 p.m. at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, MS. Interment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, IL. Mr. Barsumian died Thursday January 8, 2014 in the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport. He was born October 1, 1918 in Evanston, IL to the late Nazareth S and Jennie Christhilf Barsumian. He was a retired Electronic Technician with Rockwell International; a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II; and an Amateur Ham Radio Operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Barsumian and Herbert Barsumian. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Arlene Barsumian of Cookeville; grandchildren, Brian (Sharon) Barsumian of Cookeville and Brenda Barsumian of West Hollywood, CA; nephew, Louis Kurkjian,; nieces, Jenny Barsumian Brady and Lisa Barsumian all of CA.
