Robert Archer

Funeral services for Robert Whitson Archer, age 77, of Cookeville, will be Sunday September 8 at 2 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 - 8 p.m. and again Sunday from 12 p.m. until service time. Mr. Archer passed away Thursday evening September 5, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born October 17, 1941 in Lafayette, TN to the late Webb Dotson and Unie Clemons Archer. Mr. Archer represented AFLAC well over 30 years, and never met a stranger. He attended Holladay Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Revene Allen Archer (whom he married June 10, 1962 in Gainesboro, TN); two children, Greg (Lea Ann) Archer and Monica (Ed) Mayer, all of Cookeville; four grandchildren that he loved and was very proud of, Austin and Peyton Archer, Emmaleah and Sydney Mayer, all of Cookeville; one sister, Sarah Archer (Bill) Faulkner of Sweetwater, TN; one aunt, Peggy (Ray) Goad of Lafayatte, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Archer. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Dyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
