Richard Arnold Tiebout
A celebration of life for Richard Arnold Tiebout, age 83, of Cookeville, TN will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 2nd, at The River Community Church. Pastor Steve Tiebout will officiate.
His family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2nd, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the church. Richard went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.
Richard was born July 2, 1940, in Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Erma Tiebout, his siblings Charles Tiebout, Barbara Hake, and Priscilla Rouse, his first wife Brenda Tiebout, and his second wife Judy Tiebout.
He is survived by his daughter Deanna Numbers (John) and their children Courtney Numbers, Sydney Craven (Spencer), and Joe Numbers. Richard is also survived by his son Steve Tiebout (Melissa) and their children Steven Tiebout, Seth (Olivia) Tiebout, Joy Tiebout, Lydia Tiebout, Luke Tiebout, and Leah Tiebout. He is survived as well by his stepson Eric Moreland and siblings Robert (Lil) Tiebout, Pat Holley, and Janet Agee.
Richard retired from International Harvester and The University of Tennessee in Memphis. He was a car enthusiast and spent many evenings in the garage helping others with their cars and building his 32’ Chevrolet. Richard lived most of his life in Memphis, TN while only living recently in Cookeville with his son and family. In his last years, he enjoyed spending time with family, sharing his love and knowledge of cars with others as well as attending The River Community Church and having the opportunity to hear his son, Steve, preach on Sundays. Richard’s life is a testimony of the goodness of God who is faithful to all who desire to be in relationship with Him.
The interment will take place in Memphis, TN.
Richard enjoyed supporting some of his grandchildren who have served at Lighthouse Christian Camp over the years.
