Rhonda Russell

Graveside services and interment for Miss Rhonda Rena Russell, age 49 will be held Saturday September 18 at 1 p.m. (E.S.T.) at Hurst Cemetery in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Miss Russell went to be with Jesus Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 2, 1972 in Middlesboro, Ky to Carolyn Leach Russell and the late Gary Russell. She graduated from Oak Ridge (TN) High School in 1990. She attended Roane State Community College and later moved to Cookeville to attend Tennessee Tech University. In spite of the heart condition she was born with, Rhonda lived a very active and wonderful life. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed watching old comedies and have a loved for classic cars. She loved children and served as a faithful nursery worker at St. Michael's Episcopal Church for 10 years. She was honest, dependable, strong, upright and possessed good character. She also enjoyed playing card games, watching the Beverly Hillbillies and going shopping with her mother. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by uncles, Wayne Leach and Jerry Leach. In addition to her mother, Rhonda is survived by brother, Marty Russell of Arizona; aunts, Diana Farhangi of Brentwood, TN and Rebecca Dunlap of Charlotte, TN; and by a special, card-playing friend, Brad Holk.
