Funeral services for Rev. Franklin 'Frank' D. Davis, age 83 of Cookeville, were held Friday, June 18th at 1:00 p.m. at Dyer Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Dow Allen and Bro. Gary Farris officiated. Interment followed at West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls community. His family received friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Frank died Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1937 in Putnam County, TN to the late Emmett and Jessie Jones Davis. Frank was a preacher and minister of the Gospel for nearly 50 years, serving in many local Free Will Baptist Churches. Also, he was employed at Fleetguard. Following retirement, he worked as a driver for UCARTS. He enjoyed fishing, four wheelers and tinkering with his tractor. He was a loving father, husband, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Louise Rector Davis; brothers, Charles Davis and Richie Davis; sister, Mary Stockton; son-in-law, Tommy Henry; and by a stepson, Tommy Farley. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kathleen Nabors Farley Davis; son, Frankie (Connie) Davis of White County; daughters, Debbie (Michael) Sarr of Cookeville and Donna (John) Ross of Baxter; grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) Sarr, Stephen Sarr, Shawn Henry and Eric Henry; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jill, Ryan, Natalie, Allison, Kaitlyn, and Jacob; sister, Janie (Arvil) Bilbrey, of Cookeville; step children, Carol (Dennis) McCorkel, Tim (Keith) Farley and Gary (Marty) Farley; step grandchildren, Kyle (Courtney) Farley, Kevin Farley, Mary Beth Farley, Jeff (Misty) Fuqua, Andrea (Lance) Brooks, Carla (Zach) Burick, Tommy (Christy) McCorkel; and step great-grandchildren, Beau, Clay, Annabelle and Luke His grandsons served as pallbearers.
