Rebecca “Becky” Robinson, of Cookeville, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at her home. A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Saturday August 29 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 precautions, social distancing measures will be in place. Becky was born October 21, 1956, in Cookeville, Tennessee, to the late Robert and Wilma (Wright) Dedmon. She was a 1974 graduate of Upperman High School. Following graduation, she was employed at Bradmark, TRW, and Fleetguard, where she developed and maintained lifelong friendships. Most know Becky for her giving nature and the tenacious way she lived her life. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, overcoming adversity made her an inspiration to many. Becky was an unwavering & radiant light, always full of joy & laughter. Her constant acts of selflessness resulted in her being a “second Mom” to dozens of people. When she wasn’t busy visiting yard sales, she enjoyed caretaking & spoiling small children with snacks. Affectionately known as “The Baby Whisperer”, she never met a child who didn’t fall in love with her. She is survived by daughters, Sydney (Austin) Bledsoe of Rickman and Danielle (Alex) Wells of Chattanooga; sons, Joshua “Tubby” (Natalie) Smith of Cookeville and Shawn Lafever of Cookeville; grandchildren, Mikaylee (Chris) Swartz, Blaine Chubb, Zayden Wells, Kashton Lafever, Parker Bledsoe, Lennox Bledsoe, Blaize Wells, Devin McClellan and Isaiah Henderson; brother, Gary (Katie) Dedmon of Millington; nephew, Robert “Zip” Dedmon, along with her best friend and soulmate, Danny Robinson. She is preceded in death by her dearest friend of forty-two years, Janice Cullom. Becky also leaves behind her beloved yorkies, Harley and Haven, along with her car, Diane.
