Dr. Quattlebaum was born Thursday March 23, 1939 in Culman, AL to the late Aubrey (Zeke) and Mary Goodwin Quattlebaum. She died Wednesday June 14, 2017 at home. Rebecca earned a baccalaureate degree at Judson College and a Master's of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Alabama. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a long time volunteer worker in God's Grace Food Pantry. Quattlebaum in German means a "strong or sturdy tree". To all who were privileged to know her or work with her she lived the definition. She was a friend and mentor to many students through the years, and example of a faithful Christian who "walked the walk". She will be remembered for her spirit of adventure, her quiet strength and dignity, and her big smile. Survivors include her aunt, Patricia (Mrs. Robert) Fulbright of Waynesville, NC and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Dr. Angelo Volpe, Dr. Leon Cochran, Dr. Marvin Barker, Hill Carlen, Roger Johnson, Don Wilson and Bill Schmitzer. Honorary Pallbearers will be fellow workers in God's Grace Food Pantry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to God's Grace Food Pantry at First United Methodist Church, 165 East Broad Street, Cookeville, TN, 38501.
