Funeral Services for Rebecca “Jean” Herron, age 78 of Cookeville will be Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home with burial to follow in the West Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Mrs. Herron passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. She was born June 6, 1933 in Cookeville to the late Shelah Braswell and Maurine Johnson Braswell. Jean retired from Aquatech here in Cookeville and was a member of the Samaria Church of Christ. Jean is survived by two children, Lori Qualls (husband Sammy) of Cookeville and Scott Herron (special friend Delight Cowan) also of Cookeville. She is also survived by five grandchildren; David Herron, Samantha, Logan, Marshall and Noel Qualls, all of Cookeville, as well as one brother, Paul Braswell (Betty) of Baxter and two sisters, Loretta Inglis (George) of Arrington TN and Betty Harris (Jimmy) of Cookeville. In addition to her parents Jean was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Herron, two sisters, Marie McNelly and Helen Ruth Randolph and two brothers; Hubert Braswell and James Braswell. Pallbearers will be Brent Harris, Randy Braswell, Tommy Randolph, Kenny Randolph, Mark Inglis, and Max Slatton. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate at the services.
