William R. Jackson, known affectionately as Ray by his loved ones, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville at the age of 49. Born December 24, 1974, in Putnam Co. to William Edward and Patricia Lynn Woodard Jackson. Ray welled a life enriched with simplicity and dedication.
Ray's early years were spent at Uffelman Elementary in Monterey and continued at Cookeville High School from where he graduated. He took to the open roads as a proud truck driver, his career symbolizing his love for travel and the call of the horizon.
He will be fondly remembered for his love of the outdoors, where he often indulged in fishing and hunting, embracing nature's beauty and the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts.
Ray leaves behind his father, William E. Jackson, and his cherished sisters, Sarah (Matt) Bilbrey of Algood and Mattie Gorden of Lake Butler, FL. His memory will be a keepsake, and his legacy a guide to the hearts he touched.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Lynn Jackson; his maternal grandmother, Sarah Lou Anderson; his son, William Matthew Jackson; his daughter, Ashley Renee Jackson; and his brother-in-law, Edward Thomas Gorden.
A Memorial Service for Ray will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, June 22, 2024 from the Cookeville chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Estelle Bilbrey officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 9am until the time of services at the funeral home.
