Memorial Services for Leonard Ray Goodwin, I, 67 of Cookeville, will be Sunday, January 17 at 5 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Goodwin passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Signature Healthcare-Putnam County in Algood. He was born December 14, 1948 in Cookeville to the late Linnie Allison and Edith Gore Goodwin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremiah Geiger. He was a graduate of Central High School in Cookeville. He was a member of The Elks Lodge in Athens, TN. He also was a very talented musician. He was owner/operator of several construction businesses. He served locally as the Superintendent over the Putnam County Justice Center and the Tennessee Tech University Fitness Center Building Projects. He was an Electrician, Contractor and a Master Plumber, licensed in three states. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law Melissa and Brian Halfacre of Cookeville, Cynthia Lynn Geiger of Kansas and Angie Leathers of Cookeville, two sons Leonard Ray Goodwin, II of Cookeville and Derrick Leathers of Missouri, grandchildren: Garrett Goodwin, Amber Goodwin, Bailey Halfacre, Christopher Trover, Cody Trover, Jessica Geiger, Jake Leathers, Brad Beck, Jared Clouse, Jordan Clouse and Corey Blake, great-grandchildren: Damian Thrasher and Tristan Trover. Leonard's family will receive friends after 3 PM Sunday until service time. Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931)526-6111.
