COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Randall Richard Urban, affectionately known as Randy, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, at his residence in Cookeville, Tennessee. Born on September 26, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, Randy made a significant impact on the lives of those him through his loving nature simple yet joyful personality.
A proud 1976 graduate of Plymouth Canton High School in Plymouth, Michigan, Randy was known for his exceptional talent in football, where he earned several accolades and established a strong foundation in sports that would influence his lifelong passion as a devoted football fan. He held a particular admiration for the University of Michigan Football team and was a dedicated supporter of Tom Brady throughout his career.
Randy’s career led him to Cookeville, where he worked with 5 Star Breaktime Solutions, a vending company. His work ethic and warm demeanor left a lasting impression on those who knew him, reflecting his commitment to making a positive contribution in both his professional and personal life.
A proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous in Cookeville, Randy celebrated an incredible milestone of 36 years of sobriety. His journey of recovery was a testament to his resilience and determination, characteristics that he modeled every day for those fortunate enough to be in his presence.
Randy was a strong pillar within his family, remembered as a great big brother and a loving figure. He is survived by his sister, RaeAnn Driller and her husband, Dave; his brother, Kurt Urban; his stepsister, Trina Urban; his stepbrother, Jason Urban; his stepdaughter, Corin Cole; and many cherished nieces and nephews, including Caylene Chilcutt (Rusty), Shawn Driller, Meggan Matthis (Chance), Hunter Urban, and Spencer Urban.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Raymond Thomas Urban and Rose Marie Lopez Urban, along with his son, Christopher Urban. His legacy of love, laughter, and shared memories will always be cherished by his family and friends.
No formal services are planned. As we remember Randy, let us celebrate his life filled with kindness, humor, and unwavering love for both his family and friends.
