COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Graveside services and interment, with Military Honors, for Randall Eric Hyder, age 75, of Cookeville, TN will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the services at the Cemetery.  Rev. Larry Wilmoth will officiate.

Mr. Hyder passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Cleveland, TN.

Randall was born October 11, 1949 in Cookeville, TN to the late Willie Rye Hyder and Mary England Hyder. He is survived by his son, Chance Hyder, and sister, Karen Hyder Hawkins, and brother-in-law, Wayland Hawkins.

Randall was reared in Poplar Grove community on land his Hyder ancestors settled before Putnam County was formed. He attended Poplar Grove School, Dry Valley School and Cookeville Central High. He entered the military and was with the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles" Bowling Green, KY. He served a year in Vietnam and was awarded a Bronze Star and Commendation Medal. He worked for several years at A&H Hydraulics. One of his favorite past times was riding his Harley. He attended more than once the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. Another favorite activity was playing guitar with his band. He spent his senior years on the family farm homeplace in Poplar Grove.
