Ralph Herren

Funeral services for Ralph Herren, 94 of Baxter, will be Wednesday, January 11 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday after 11 AM until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Garland Robinson will officiate.

Mr. Herren died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at NHC of Cookeville.

He was born January 5, 1929 in Putnam County to the late Amos and Lettie Roberts Herren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Myrna Ruth Tucker Herren on September 13, 1999; sons, Don Herren and Steve Herren; a great-great-granddaughter, Maya Herren; sisters, Hassel Hancock, Hazel Randolph, Vallie Chaffin, Veila Chaffin, Ruth Robinson; brothers, Charlie, Carlos, Leonard and Floyd Herren.

He was a member of Bussell Church of Christ. He was a Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Ralph worked as a farmer, brick mason and also at Duriron of Cookeville (now Flowserve). He enjoyed hunting and making knives.

Survivors include son, Kevin Herren of Cookeville; grandsons, Mark (Nikki) Herren, Chad (Susan) Herren, Tegess Herren; great-grandchildren: Morgan (Tyler) Gaudette, Tyler Herren, Nycolette Herren, Kaitlin (Brandon) Poston, Kinsley Herren, Bibiano Herren; great-great-grandchild, Bentley Poston.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon Poston, Tyler Gaudette, Adam Peek, Tyler, Jared, Chad and Mark Herren.
