Ralph Dunn

Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Dunn, age 85, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday November 2 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. David Eldridge will officiate. Interment will follow in the West Cemetery. His family will receive friends 5 - 8 p.m. Friday and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Mr. Dunn passed away Wednesday evening October 30, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born Monday August 13, 1934 in Putnam County, TN to the late Enloe and Lily Mae Sherrell Dunn. Mr. Dunn joined the US Army in 1957 and was a radio operator mechanic. He was retired from Coca-Cola after 32 years of service and was a former associate with Woodman of the World. He was a member of Samaria Church of Christ for over 60 years. He preached at local churches for over 50 years including Samaria, Big Springs, Locust Grove Churches of Christ. Mr. Dunn served in various civic capacities including Putnam County Commission, 911 Board, and Planning Commission. He also was a former member of the Cookeville Civitan Club. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Venita "Tootsie" Brewington Dunn, whom he married December 23, 1958; two daughters, Jennifer Daughrity (husband, Kevin) and Cindy Rush (husband, Kevin) all of Cookeville; two sisters, Lois Selby, and Marie Sprouse (husband, Dan) all of Sparta; one nephew, Glen Flatt, six grandchildren, Ashley Reeves (husband, Matt), Sarah Allen (husband, Austin), Kaylen Rush, Alex Rush, Kaylee Jones (husband, Chris) and Libby Daughrity; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Grace and Levi Dunn Reeves; and an affectionately adopted son, Mark "Puggs" Watts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Ralph Dunn Jr. Pallbearers will be friends and family. Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
