Pennie England

Funeral services for Mrs. Pennie Anne England, 54 of Cookeville will be held Thursday May 8 at 11am in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Danny Lane will officiate. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. England's family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. England died Saturday evening May 3, 2014 in the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, IL after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 5, 1959 in New Bedford, MA to Percy Eldridge Hammond and Carole Anne Carter Hammond. She enjoyed her career as a hairstylist very much. Her other passions included spending time with her grandchildren, riding motorcycles with her husband, and crafting or repurposing. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Mike England; daughter Tiffany (Chuck) Shelby, all of Cookeville; sons Jeremy Jolly (Cheryl) of Sunnyvale, California and Brent England (Deseree) of Sparta; grandchildren, Kenadi, Charles Kannon and Lennox Kross Shelby and Jacobi Angelo Jolly; brother, Toby (Tracy) Hammond of Murfreesboro; sisters, Wendy (John) Shaver of Talbot, TN, Bonnie (Mike) Haddix of Indiana and Tammie (John Brown) Hammond of Panama City, FL; and by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Pennie's family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to accounts that have been set up for two special local children currently involved in courageous battles--"Anne Marie's Battle"-Scottie and Denise Smith, American Bank & Trust, 1450 Neal Street, Cookeville, TN 38501 and/or to Alby Gaby-First Baptist Church (to the Gaby Family), 18 South Walnut Avenue, Cookeville, TN 38501.
