Funeral services for Peggy Nell Keith Stout, age 86 of Cookeville, will be 3 p.m. Sunday, September, 18 at Washington Avenue Baptist Church. Pastor Mark Gaw and Pastor Doug Benningfield will officiate. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends Saturday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home and again Sunday from 1 - 3 p.m. at the church.
Peggy passed away Wednesday September 14, 2022 at her home.
She was born January 24, 1936, in Putnam County, TN to the late Virgil and Pearlie Vickers Keith.
Peggy was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. She and her late husband, Jenneth, owned and operated Cookeville Florist for over 25 years. She and her daughter, Tammy Fontenot opened London Bridge Preschool in 1998. One of Peggy's favorite things was playing with her young friends at London Bridge, where she was lovingly known as Memaw.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy (Mark) Fontenot of Cookeville; grandson, Nathan (Andreea) Fontenot of Apollo Beach, FL; six brothers, Gene Keith of Cookeville, Billy Keith of Baxter, Gary (Carolyn) Keith of Franklin, Virgil (Wanda) Keith Jr. of Cookeville, Roger (Debra) Keith of Cookeville, and Phillip Keith of Baxter; six sisters, Ella Lee of Lenoir City, Dorothy Phann of Cookeville, Barbara Dyer of Bloomington Springs, Linda (Mike) Spurlock of Cookeville, Hilda Keith of Baxter and Wilda Keith of Baxter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jenneth Fuston Stout.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Fontenot, Matt Snider, Chandler Gaw, Mike Gaw, Scott Copeland, Bob Williams, Tyler Birdwell, Clark Birdwell, and Earl (Jess) Cowan.
