Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Smith Gentry, age 99 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at The River Community Church. Pastor Steve Chatman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and again Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Gentry died Tuesday November 9, 2021 at Mabry Health Care and Rehabilitation in Gainesboro. She was born April 11, 1922 in Putnam County to the late James and Stella Robinson Smith. Pauline was a kind, tender hearted and devoted to her family. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading Christian fiction. She was a gifted homemaker end enjoyed cooking, embroidering and gardening. She was a devoted follower of Christ and was a member of The River Community Church in Cookeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen B. Gentry; brothers, Louis Smith and Arvil Smith; and by a sister, Aline Bohannon. Pauline is survived by daughters, Carol (Dr. Christopher) Nahm of Cookeville and Phyllis Dwyer of Sparta; sons, Jerry (Deborah) Gentry and Steve (Shirley) Gentry, both of Denver, CO and Harold (Renate) Gentry of Florida; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; brothers, Ray (Sue) Smith, Freeman (Geraldine) Smith and James (Anne) Smith; sisters, Willene James, Margie Copeland and Lucille Ford, all of Cookeville. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Lighthouse Christian Camp, 205 Serenity Place, Smithville, TN 37166.
