BAXTER-Funeral services for Myrtle Pauline Ballard, 86 of Baxter, will be Sunday, July 10 at 2 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Ballard died Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home. She was born October 3, 1929 to the late Miles Wesley and Nancy Rebecca Hamilton Anderson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos D. "JACK" Ballard on August 27, 2011, a son Eldon Ballard, brothers Henry Anderson, Garland Anderson and Charlie Anderson. She was a member of Baxter Church of Christ. She was a retired seamstress with Cookeville Shirt Factory with twenty-five years of service. She loved to sew, making many clothes for her grandchildren. She loved quilting, baking and decorating cakes. She loved to travel and spending time with family. Survivors include daughter-in-law Sandy Ballard of Baxter, granddaughters and husbands: Becky and William Hyder of Crossville, Angela and Clay Chase of Glasgow, KY, Amanda and Kenny Gragg of Winchester, TN, great-grandchildren: Shelby Lee, Ariel Hyder, Jack Hyder, Anna Chase, Benjamin Chase, Gavin Gragg and Elsie Gragg, sisters-in-law Ruby Anderson of Cookeville, Marie Martin of Gainesboro and Jean Ballard of Michigan. Active Pallbearers will be Mike Martin, Ernest Hargis, Donald Anderson, David Anderson, Danny Ballard and Keith Dodson. Mrs. Ballard's family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Sunday. Bro. P.V. Whitefield and Bro. Andy Martin will officiate.
