Graveside services and interment for Mr. Edward Paul McLendon, age 84 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, August 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville. Celebrant Judy Duke and Rev Kevin Conrad will officiate. Mr. McLendon died Saturday morning, August 15, 2020 at NHC of Cookeville. He was born Friday October 11, 1935 in Columbus, GA to the late Earl Pierce and Lois Adelle Galloway McLendon. He was a 1957 graduate of David Lipscomb University. He began his professional chemistry career with Oak Ridge National Laboratories. The family business, Alsbrook's General Contractors, brought him back to Nashville. Later, opportunities developed with Foster-Crieghton and Rogers Construction. He completed his career as project manager with Centex-Rodgers, Inc. in Nashville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Ann Alsbrook McLendon; and by son, Edward Patrick (Pat) McLendon. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Carole Livesay McLendon (whom he married February 14, 2018); daughter, Theresa McLendon of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter, Brielyn McLendon of Atlanta, GA; and brother, James (Edith) McLendon of Nashville.
