Paul Loftis

COOKEVILLE - Mr. Aron Paul Loftis passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, at the age of 90. Known by everyone as Paul, he was born on August 5, 1933, in Hilham, TN, to the late George Martin and Ollie May Langford Loftis.

Aron's life was marked by devotion to his family. He was a loving husband to his late wife, Vera May Riley Loftis, for 62 years, a bond that was admired by all who knew them. He was the youngest of four children, preceded in death by Howard Loftis, Edith Loftis, and Elise moles, brother in law, John Moles and son in law, William Jackson. Paul was a loving father and father in law to his daughter, Cathy Jackson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and his son and daughter-in-law, Bennie and Lora Loftis. Grandfather to Mandy Loftis, Erica (Juan) Martinez, Blake (Sandra) Loftis, and Hayley Jackson (Nick) Keeton, and great-grandfather to Mia and Amelia Martinez, Annabelle Loftis, a role he embraced with joy and pride. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Lynn Loftis, and several loving nieces and nephews.

Aron's early education took place in Overton County, TN. At the age of 17, he embarked on a new chapter of his life when he moved to Detroit, MI for work, where he met his beloved Vera. His career journey led him to General Motors in Dayton, Ohio, in 1958, where he demonstrated his strong work ethic, eventually retiring as a department supervisor. He and Vera returned to Tennessee in 1987.

Throughout his life, Aron was known for his great sense of humor, which brought laughter and lightness to all who were around him. His love for music was evident, often found strumming his guitar and his wife, Vera, singing along, sharing melodies that resonated with his soul. Paul found joy in working with his hands, whether it was fixing what was broken or creating something new.

Family was the cornerstone of Aron's life. He instilled values of love, hard work, and faith in his children and grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of strength and integrity. His firm beliefs and God-fearing nature guided him through the many seasons of his life, providing comfort and inspiration to those he loved.

A graveside service and interment for Mr. Aron Paul Loftis, age 90 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:00 am in Crest Lawn Cemetery.
