Funeral Services for Mrs. Patricia L. Ward, Age 84, of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel Of Dyer Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Monday, May 12, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, May 13th from 10:00a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Ward passed peacefully Saturday, May 10, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born August 25, 1929 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Clarance and Mary Ernest. Ms. Ward was of the Church of Christ faith and was retired from Cookeville Regional Hospital Dietary after 25+ years of service. In addition to her devotion to her family and friends, she loved to crochet blankets for area nursing homes and homeless shelters. She worked quilts for family and those in need. She is survived by son Brother Paul (Von) Ward of Scottsville, KY; Son Officer Luke (Carol) Ward of Cookeville, TN; Daughter Kaye (Bobby) Spray of Murfreesboro, TN and Daughter Dawn (Paul) Turner of Bulls Gap, TN; 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren & 2 great great- grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Jackie Odekirk of Holly, MI; nephew Ernest Hawk and family of Baltimore MD; with special thanks to her granddaughter Jessica (Ward) Lindner. She also leaves behind her devoted cat Sandy. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister and brother in law Ron and Jean Hawk; her 2 precious grandsons Greg Ward and Scotty Griffin. Family will serve as pallbearers. Very Special Thanks to Home Instead and its care givers, Nikki, Diane and Holly. Bro. Gary Paul Ward and Glenn Ramsey will officiate the service.
