Patricia Standifer

Patricia Birdwell Standifer passed away in her home among family and friends on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Known fondly as Pat or Patsy by those who knew her, she will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. A longtime resident of Cookeville and member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ, she was retired and spent her time with her neighbors, friends and beloved dog, Muffin. The daughter of J and Mary Birdwell, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Janice Jackson, John Birdwell and Alan Birdwell. She is survived by daughters, Stacie Standifer Nichols (Tim) and Susan Stroud (Slade); granddaughters Summer Hitchcock (John), Sadie Mae and Scotlynn Stroud; several cousins, nieces and nephews including Jennifer Jackson Spurlock, her niece that she was particularly close to throughout her life. She is also survived by Brenda Smith, her dearest and best friend for over 50 years. She will be buried in a private graveside ceremony and laid to rest by her infant son, Douglas Scot Standifer. Any remembrance donations should be made to Young Life (yluppercumberland.younglife.org), an organization of special importance to her granddaughters.
