Patricia Malone

Mrs. Patricia (Patsy) Ann Malone, age 77, of Cookeville, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at her home. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Patsy or Scooter as her friends called her, was born July 3, 1939 in Nashville, TN to the late Elmer and Mary Reale Burress. She was a life long learner; world traveler, lover of gardening, reading and teaching. She earned her BA from George Peabody College in Nashville, and Master's Degree from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (TTU). She taught at the University School in Nashville for over 24 years. After moving to Cookeville, she taught in the Putnam County School District. Patsy was a member of American Association for University Women (AAUW), Putnam County Master Gardeners, and Upper Cumberland Quilt Festival. She was a volunteer with Camp Sloane in Lakeville, CT. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Hugh (Pat) Malone (whom she married July 3, 1981 in Nashville, TN); two sons and daughters-in-law, Hugh and Kathleen Malone of Aptos, CA, Michael and Belinda of Riverside, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Vince Ventimilgia of Ventura, CA; sister, Linda Davis of Lebanon, TN; nephews Michael, Patrick, and Steven Jones; sister-in-law, Judy (Bob) Bates of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren, Heather, Michael, Ryan, and Kristen Malone, Donavan (Kavita) Ventimiglia and Dalton Ventimiglia; and great-granddaughter, Fable Ventimiglia. She leaves behind a community she loved and many wonderful, loving friends.
