Oval Herren

BAXTER-Funeral services for Oval Herren, 87 of Silver Point, will be Wednesday, September 21 at 1 PM at Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 AM until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Herb Leftwich and Bro. Glenn Ramsey will officiate.

Mr. Herren died Sunday, September 18, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 13, 1935 in Putnam County to the late Oba and Jo Ella Shores Herren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Barbara Ann Huddleston Herren on January 6, 2011, son-in-law Perry Thomas, sisters Vera Mai Lewis and Mary Magdalene Fisher.

He was a member of Herrens Chapel Church of Christ.

Oval enjoyed hunting and fishing. He cherished spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed farming and spending time in nature.

Survivors include daughter Cindy Thomas of Baxter, son Glen (Jill) Herren of Cookeville, grandsons: Kevin Thomas and Jared Herren, sister Marie White of Baxter, several nieces and nephews.

Glen & Jared Herren, Kevin Thomas, Jimmy Meadows, James Jones & Austin Melton will serve as pallbearers.
