Funeral Services for Ova B. McCulley, age 95, of Cookeville will be held Monday, February 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. McCulley died Friday, February 24, 2012 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born December 23, 1916 in Putnam County, TN to the late Obe Bumbalough and Dora Finley Bumbalough. She was a loving mother and wife and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Cookeville since 1943. Mrs. McCulley was also a school teacher for the Putnam County School System teaching at Jere Whitson Elementary School, Putnam County Senior High School and Monterey High School. Mrs. Ova is survived by two daughters; Jane McBroom and her husband Doug, and Sara M. Parker, both of Cookeville. She is also survived by grandchildren, Amy Stockwell and her husband Brian of Cookeville and Brian McBroom and his wife Mandy of Pensacola FL and Jennifer Baker and her husband Charles of Boston MA as well as great-grandchildren, Daisy Jane Stockwell, Alexis, Conner and Haden McBroom and Parker and Brooks Baker. Mrs. McCulley was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harvey B. McCulley; five brothers, Dallas, Dow, Comer, Hollis, and Herschel Bumbalough; one sister, Maggiebelle Barker and a son-in-law, Roger Parker. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cookeville. Pallbears will be the deacons of First Baptist Church. Dr. Randall Adkisson and Bro. Charlie Hutchinson will be conducting the service.
