Ova Looper

RICKMAN-Funeral services for Mrs. Ova Lou Jackson Looper, 77, of Rickman, will be conducted Sunday, October 25th at 2 pm at Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Rev. Chris Sparkman will officiate. Interment will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 5 pm until 8 pm at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and again Sunday from 12 pm until service time at the church. Mrs. Looper died Thursday October 22, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 13, 1938 in Overton County, TN to the late Bob and Tillie Alice Hite Wilson. She attended Okolona School. She also lived in Anderson, Indiana where she was a charter member of East 38th St. Free Will Baptist Church. She is a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ova was a loving homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She especially loved to sing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father to her children, Denton Jackson (who died March 7, 1989); brothers, Cleophus Wilson, JC Wilson, and Ed Wilson; sister, Maude Cooper, and by two infant twin grandsons. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, A.J. Looper; four sons, Denny Jackson and Linda of Rickman, Bob Jackson and Amanda of Anderson, IN, Kevin Jackson and Lisa of Smyrna, and David Jackson and Ginnie of Rickman; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Lance, Will, Ryan, Matthew and Zach Jackson, Russell Hastings, Jeff Hammock, and Damon Goodpasture will serve as pallbearers. Her grandchildren and spouses and great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
