Omer Lee Dubree

Funeral Services for Omer Lee Dubree, age 84, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010 in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 26 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the Chapel of the funeral home. Mr. Dubree died Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Life Care Center of Sparta. He was born May 26, 1926 in Clay County TN to the late Francis Dubree and Loree Smith Dubree. Omer was a veteran of World War II serving in the infantry of the United States Army. He was of the Church of Christ Faith and attended the Holladay Church of Christ. Mr. Dubree was a self employed carpenter for many years. His family includes his wife, Bessie Mitchell Dubree of Cookeville; Son, Billy Dubree and wife Kaye of Cookeville; daughter, Brenda Lewis and husband Larry of Brentwood; daughter, Debbie Smith and husband Ronnie of Nashville; and son, Michael Dubree and wife Kelly of Gainesboro. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Tracy Grissom and husband Matt, Tammy Kinnard and husband Jeff, Kacie and Brian Smith, Jessica Lewis, Chris and Meleah Dubree. Omer was also survived by four great-grandchildren; Tyler Carr, Haley Kinnard, Kason and Kolton Grissom. He is also survived by three sisters; Loama Fox Heskell of Cookeville, Sue Farris of Sparta, and Bette Dubree, of Cookeville. In addition to his parents Mr. Dubree was preceded in death by a brother, Lex Dubree, and a sister, Jean Alcorn. Pallbearers will include Tyler Carr, Matt Grissom, Jeff Kinnard, Chris Dubree, Brian Smith and Grady Mitchell. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate at the services.
