Olin Pratt

Funeral services, with military honors, for Mr. Olin Lafroy Pratt, 87 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday April 17 at 3 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Scarlett officiating. Mr. Pratt died passed away peacefully to meet his Savior Jesus Christ on Friday April 11, 2014 in Kindred Care and Rehab Center-Masters. He was born August 29, 1926 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Leonard and Mildred A. Muldine Pratt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Pratt. Mr. Pratt was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran where he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star while serving in the European Theatre. His service also included guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. While living in Fort Campbell he met and three weeks later married the love of his life. They moved to Nashville where he ran his own upholstery shop until 1965 when they moved to Tampa, FL. He retired as a maintenance Mechanic with the University of South Florida. Following retirement, with their motor home they traveled throughout the U. S. and parts of Europe. In April of 2007 they moved to Cookeville to live near their son. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Martha Fults Pratt (whom he married May 30, 1946 in Fort Campbell, KY); son and daughter-in-law, John and Linda Pratt all of Cookeville; daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Steve Wallace of Lakeland, Fl; grandchildren, Brett Herd, Aaron (Melanie) Wallace, Charlie(Heather) Wallace, Greg(Nicole) Wallace, Ryan Pratt, and Erica Pratt; great-grandchildren, Hannah Johnston, Macey, Sidney, Kamber, Ethan, Nathan, and Kathryn Wallace, John Hardwick and Joey Hardwick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Care Center at Stevens Street Baptist Church 269 South Willow Avenue Cookeville, TN 38501. Mr. Pratt's family will receive friends Thursday from 2 p. m. until service time at the funeral home.
