Odell Haney Jared

COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Odell Haney Jared, 88, of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, June 3, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Browns Mill Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday, June 2, from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Jared died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born March 11, 1920, in Putnam County to the late Newman Haney and Nannie Lou Cumby. Mrs. Jared was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. She was employed at Idea Cleaners for 30 years. Her family includes two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Roy Randolph of Livingston and Nancy and Randall Whiteaker of Algood; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Eddie and Linda Jared of Sparta, Wayne and Sandra Jared of Smithville, Robert G. and Nancy Jared, and Michael Jared, all of Cookeville; a sister, Ora Lee Whiteaker of Algood; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jared was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Jared; a son, David Paul Jared; two brothers, Charlie and Clyde Haney; and a granddaughter, Michelle Wassom. Bro. Bobby Sebastian will officiate the services.
