Funeral services for Mrs. Nola Mae Needham, age 98 of Cookeville and formerly of Livingston, will be held Saturday, June 4th at 11 a.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Good Hope Cemetery. Melinda Bilbrey and The Reverend Linda Reichenbecher will officiate. Mrs. Needham's family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Nola Mae passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Cedar Hills Senior Living. She was born October 2, 1917 in Livingston, TN to the late L.P. Jernigan, Sr. and Maude Lee Eldridge Jernigan. She was a 1936 graduate of Livingston Academy. She was a homemaker and active member of her community. She was a longtime member of the Home Demonstration Club and worked to help secure the Women's Building for the Overton County Fairgrounds. She helped establish the first Farmer's Market on University Street on school property under the shade trees. As the oldest member of the Livingston First United Methodist Church, she was a longtime member of the Society of Methodist Women. She enjoyed many crafts which included making, dressing, and repairing dolls and also made award winning teddy bears. She was an accomplished quilt maker, seamstress, and needle worker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 78 years, Raleigh Needham. She is survived by her sons, John R. Needham, Jr. of Harriman, TN and William L. (Bill) Needham and wife Carolyn of Livingston; granddaughters, Julie Ruesewald and husband Don and Lynn Drew and husband Jason; great grandchildren, Ryan and Abby Ruesewald, step great-grandson, Josh Ruesewald; sister, Christine Hatch and brother, Floyd Jernigan. Henry Jernigan, Ryan Ruesewald, Josh Ruesewald, Howard Bilbrey, Charles Atkins and Andy Atkins will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stephens Center, 616 N.
